Rondina - This has to do with *how* you underline in Word. Select the text
you want underlined, then go to Format > Font. In the center of the box is
a field labeled Underline Style. If you select "Words only" the spaces are
not underlined. Therefore, simply select the plain black line. This will
underline words AND spaces. However, if you select the text you want
underlined and do a Ctrl+U, it should underline everything; if it does not,
then simply use the Format > Font method.

Cheri,
I have tried this before, but I always assumed that what was on my
screen
was what I would see when I printed it. I was surprised to find that was not
the case, at least in MS Word 2003. What should on the screen was a broken
underline indicating blank spaces with the underline behind it. What printed
was
a nice neat underlined word. I converted it to a PDF and it held up. A
simple
solution. Thank you.
