Someone recently mentioned the codes for occupations in later censuses. In
the 1930 census for Elbert A. Pence in Mound City, Holt County, Missouri,
his listed occupation is illegible (for these old eyes) and appears to be
overwritten. It is followed by the code 8885. Can someone direct me to a
site where these codes are searchable or listed.
