Oh, I don't know, Richard. I thought my one ancestor was German and his wife
was Swedish and that their children were German and that they all immigrated
from Germany to Milwaukee and then Ohio. But then I went to "the hall of
records" (aka Family History Library) and found out the children are Danish!
They may have been on the same boat with Olaf Olafson, a Chinese laundry
owner. When someone asked him why his name was Olaf Olafson, the laundry
owner of oriental nativity said that he was in line at the immigration port
behind a Swede and when asked his name he said it was "Same Ting" and so the
immigration officer wrote down Olaf Olafson.
Ba-ding!
--Elissa who can claim some Swedish heritage if only she knew where!
