Good morning Jeanette
I tend to agree with the suggestion of the name change you have suggested.
I am one of the members of APG who does indeed earn their living by
performing genealogical research for clients throughout the country. I feel
the organization has truly afforded a vehicle of connection with others of
like interests and permitted me to share my needs of research around the
members.
I realize many people who are members of APG are not in the strictest terms
a "professional genealogist" but they like the idea of being a member of
this organization. Lets do what we can to keep it to its highest standards
in all aspects.
I look forward to the board members in a telephone call on Tuesday and
hopefully this question will be resolved and we can move forward to bigger
and better things.
For all the years I have been a member of APG I have supported it's
principles and concepts in every way possible and will continue to do so in
the future. My term of board member runs for one more year and I will have
served my three terms making it my limit.
I plan to be active up to that last minute on the board but continue to do
all I can to support APG at the conferences and in anyway I can.
We can get past this "bump in the road" and move on to bigger and better
things to make certain APG shines.
Just my humble opinion.
