Kathy's mention of CE hours brought to mind that at the annual (12th year
now) Angelina College Genealogy Conference we do offer both CE and CPE
hours. Continuing Education since the beginning, and as of last year
Certified Professional Educator credits (Texas) are offered.
A little late to change speaker or program plans for this July, although
we are offering three specific all day sessions that will carry a
Certification of Completion as well. Could one or more of these (CE, CPE,
or CofC) suffice? - or would some other 'proof' be needed?
Perhaps we need to get with the Lone Star Chapter and see if we can
design something for next year that could become a model. It is definitely
not too late this year (July) to prepare some sort of APG credit reporting
... give me ideas.
Sorry our website is not current yet, due to a scheduling problem. As
soon as it is, I'll alert you. But the three 'specials' are two on
Thursday: I'm doing "FDR's 'New Deal' Genealogy" and Pat Gordon is offering
a full day on "Writing Your Family History." The third all day session, on
Saturday, will be John Sellers and "A Day at the Seat of Justice." Other
lecturers on Friday & Saturday include Alvie Davidson, Susan Kaufman,
Charlie Gardes, Emily Croom, and Don Raney.
Last year, and I hope again this year, the Lone Star Chapter had a table
and was able to answer questions, etc.
