It's hard to argue against a student category,although it's probably not as
badly needed as in other large professions where passage through a full-time
post-secondary program is part of the normal progression toward professional
status.
Distinguishing between "Certified Members" and ordinary members seems
unnecessary. Individuals holding certifications or accreditations can already
indicate so in your profiles. It doesn't make sense to vary dues between
certified and non-certified individuals. Not all board-certified genealogists are
professionals (in the fee-for-service sense), and not all professionals
(again, in the fee-for-service sense) are board-certified.
