Subject: [APG] How Widely Used is the Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS)
Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2008 11:02:18 -0800
I know that understanding the Genealogical Proof Standard is a requirement to becoming a Certified Genealogist (CG). My question is how widely used is it?
Do all CGs faithfully use it after certification?
How widely is it used by the following groups:
Professional Genealogists
Certified
Non-Certified
Personal Family Historians
Beginner
Intermediate
Expert
Certified
Why do you think it is no more widely used?
Does the BCG have any survey results around this topic? (If they do, I would love to talk to someone there)
