Scorn and condescension toward genealogical software that we all use? Bob,
this is unfathomable (or, to borrow your word: "silly').
To objectively state the strengths and weaknesses of one kind of software
versus another kind of software--and to dream of a day when the strengths of
both are melded into one program we can all use--does not fit those
adjectives.

No, I haven't declined. The offer to provide you with a digital file of my
NGSQ Mariotte article as a test genealogy still stands. Considering that it
focuses upon a slave family with alternate names, multiple people of the
same name, illegitimacy, published errors to correct, and other
irregularities that Barbara mentioned in her suggestions, it would seem
appropriate for a test.

Well, we could reconvene this in October/November, on the cruise, over
