The December 2007 NGS Quarterly has an article reconstructing an
enslaved family in Missouri. It author, Ruth Randall, did an outstanding
job of pulling evidence from the few sources available, applying logic
to achieve verifiable conclusions, and writing up the results. The
article is based on her prize-winning entry to the 2006 Family History
Writing Contest. If you haven't seen the article, you may find the
sources she cites to be helpful. ---- Tom Jones
