Egg creams!  A thread I can truly savor! :-)

I've had this link bookmarked for a few months -- it includes, among other things, an egg cream recipe for those so inclined:

http://whatscookingamerica.net/History/NYEggCreamHistory.htm

(A NY-born-and-bred friend sent me the link as part of an email exchange about egg creams last year; we were both feeling nostalgic -- and thirsty!)

As for finding egg creams these days:  I had one yesterday for lunch! The best places to find them are Jewish delis; I've had them not only in NYC, but in King of Prussia, PA (Michael's), and Natick, MA (Joan and Ed's). They may or may not be the perfect classic original, but they sure taste good!  (The NY one was the best, natch.)

Best,

Linda Courtemanche.
