Heck, form some years now I've had to dial all 11 numbers just to call my cell when I can't find it in the house!!

dividing line between two telephone systems so to call my cousin who
lives less than one-half mile away, I have to dial 11 numbers for a
long-distance call. But I can also dial the traditional seven numbers
to talk to someone on the other side of my county (20+ miles) because
we're in the same system!
