Dear Mark,

Not capturing images of every useful document.
Not interviewing every living person of good memory.

The above are probably givens for most of us.

The third would be not getting the daguerreotypes and tintypes identified.
Those ghostly eyes (an effect from the long exposures necessary) haunt me in
their anonymity - someone knew and loved them once.
