In addition to what others have mentioned, my main regret is I didn't keep
a genealogical diary of the special days I had while researching my
ancestors. If I could start over, I'd buy a thick, bound notebook and start
with the first day of my research or perhaps start with the class or
lecture which inspired me to begin studying genealogy. I'd continue with a
chronological listing of significant findings - i.e. the day I saw for the
first time my great-grandmother's name and the tears it brought to my eyes.
If I had done this, I'd now have over twenty years of my most meaningful
genealogical days. I could look back and relive all the wonderful times and
the feelings they generated.
