I'm late jumping in on this thread, so I'll only name one regret - but it's
a big one. That regret is not going through the family photo albums
page-by-page and picture-by-picture with my mother. I had known about them
for years and thought I knew who everyone was. No names written under or
on back, of course. Never occurred to me when I was younger. But after
she passed, I looked through them again and there were a number of people I
did not recognize. I suspect most were friends rather than relatives, but
it would still be nice to know who they were since they were important
enough for Mother to include in her albums. I did show them to the
relatives, but they had no idea.
Then there is the stack of old-time photos from my father's family I found
in the attic. No names, of course. Those will never be known.
