Subject: [APG] Gaining Images from difficult microfilms
Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2008 16:41:44 -0600
Good afternoon all,
I'm hoping for a bit of advice. I am often hired by genealogists located outside of the Salt Lake area to review FHL microfilm and obtain images for their research. The FHL has good quality scanners and printers, and I am usually able to gain a very good TIFF file from these methods. The FHL scanners are almost useless, however, on dark film. Does anyone have any tricks for getting good quality images from dark microfilm? I have had little success with getting good digital photos due to the issues with angles. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
