A genealogical lesson in this thread is that when searching for a tombstone
we should always check beside the first spouse. My grandmother had a sister
of died at a very young age in childbirth in 1895. Her husband was buried
beside his wife and baby son in 1952.

I believe that in former days it was the "rule" to bury someone beside their
first spouse.
