Joan - I have never heard of such a society. Thank you for bringing it to
our attention. What a hoot!

I have ancestors who ran a tavern in New Amsterdam. They often got in
trouble with the authorities for selling liquor to "Indians." After her
husband's death my 8G grandmother was finally evicted from the city for not
mending her ways and lived out her years in Schenectady.

I'll check into this! Looking forward to creating our gen pub in KC next
week for those interested!
