For those that use the Firefox browser (which I highly recommend), there is an add-on called Foxmarks, which stores and synchronizes your favorites (called "bookmarks" in Firefox) to or from their web server. So if you are working at the library from your laptop and discover three new sites you want to note, all you have to do is bookmark them like you would any page. They are automatically added and synchronized, so the next time you start up firefox at home, it will download the updated version of your bookmarks, and they appear in your favorites. There are a couple of other bookmark add-ons, but this is the easiest to use.
