Greetings,

I wanted to thank everyone who replied to my query both on list and off
list. I have summarized a few of the points below:

1. Starting and owning a business requires a lot of hard work and sometimes
its overwhelming for some. I have significant experience as an
entrepreneur, I started my first company at 17 so this is not an issue for
me.

2. Numerous respondents suggested certification, attending Samford and the
NIGR

3. Establish relationships with local libraries, archivists and societies

4. Write a weekly column, publish articles and books to get your name out
there

5. Lecture in your local area to promote your research services

6. Don't quit your day job too soon and save about two years of living
expenses until your business gets off the ground.

As always, I welcome additional comments or suggestions.

Thanks,

Kenyatta D. Berry
