Melissa,
Yes, the indexing links are very messed up! the link is to a record in
the wrong draft board (5).
One can 'browse' by clicking on a level in the index search path that
appears at the top of the page. For example, for the example you gave:
Search > Military Records > World War I Draft Registration Cards,
1917-1918 > Illinois > Chicago City > 4 > Draft Card F
The '4' is the draft board. One can double check the draft board number
by checking the stamped 4 part number/letter on each registration card.
The draft board is the last number (the first two are state, county).
The letter refers to the registration event (1st, 2nd, 3rd); A=1st.
So, following the link for Van Tard Foster, I see that it's linked to a
record from the wrong draftboard, the wrong part of the alphabet.
Checking the 'F' level I see that it's not just his record, all the F's
for draft board 4 are misplaced.
I checked some of the other letter links for Draft Board 4, most were
also for the 5th board.
I couldn't quickly find the F's for Draft Board 4 (couldn't find the
other letters either LOL). Not sure it's worth the time trying to find
out if they can be accessed via another link. They could be any
where...or not linked at all. Please report to ancestry so they know
to fix it.
Good luck!
