This thread started with s subject of Locating a Will and then evolved
into veromi.net I was too quick on the send button and copied the
Digest reference subject. To me using the Digest reference is a no no.

A number of years ago I had the probate file of a possible ancestor at
the Massachusetts Archives. In the files were the 1685 receipts signed
by some of the heirs. The ink was just as dark and legible as if they
had been written only months before I saw them.
