The Board for Certification of Genealogists is pleased to award CG designation to the following individual:

Gerald H. “Jerry” Smith, CG(sm), of Ocean Township, New Jersey.

Smith is in Research and Development for Avaya. He earned a BS from Allegheny College and an MS from the University of Pittsburgh. He lectures and teaches classes on topics including land platting and colonial records. Smith was invited to present at the Academy of Lifelong Learning, University of Delaware. A practicing historic craftsman and tinsmith, he has presented at the historic Longstreet Farm. He has published articles and one book, "Captain Anthony Smith of Bedford County, Pennsylvania: Ancestry, German Origin, and Collateral Lines" (Morgantown, Pennsylvania: Masthof Press, 2007).
