Thanks, maybe now is a good time to talk about this then, though I don't
want to beat this to death.
what might be useful is a list or forum specifically for the theory
side of things. More definition of 'theory'. I can understand why there
aren't enough articles submitted, the theoretical side of things remains
vague and undefined. Yet there are areas in related disciplines that
overlap that could be mined as part of a process of sketching things out a
bit more. Genealogical 'theory' to this point has been almost exclusively
concerned with methodology, yet at some point in the future it will be the
theoretical side of things that will determine, or at least influence, the
method (as is the case generally in other subjects). My thoughts on this
anyway.
Other factors in the future, search methods for example, will bring changes
to how genealogical methods are applied and evaluated. Putting all the eggs
in the method and practices side may not be the most productive gambit over
the long haul.
