I find in this business it's feast or famine and darned if someone wouldn't
take you up on a special deal like this during one of feast periods. There
are always times that I would not be being kind to myself to take business
of any length, or do a very good job for the clients I'm currently working
for. I think that people who work for charity need to be congratulated for
their willingness to participate.

But check your state's retail laws, expiry dates are outlawed in quite a few

states. If we're 'professionals' then we should at least conform to normal
business practices, and expiry dates on gift certificates aren't the norm in

many jurisdictions.

If two hours would be a problem later because of timing, then simply speak
up to the winner and explain. Most people that I deal with would understand

a reasonable delay under special circumstances. But if that is a real
concern maybe better not to get involved in the first place. Just a
thought....
