Wilma thanks for finishing the story, that was an odd way they acted, I don't
ever remember them doing things like that but have heard my mother talk about
them standing on their tails and hissing. I have respect for a snake for they
kill rats and mice, but yet I won't stand by and let anyone get bit either,
my grandmother was picking bush beans in the garden and a copperhead got her
before she knew what happened and she shot it. Her and my step grandfather
lived back in the Mts. quite a ways and she went home and doctored herself
until grandpa got home they said she swelled up like a frog and when she got
to the doctor they put her in the hospital over night, said she did the right
things, I have a grandson that turned 17 yesterday and he has to carry a
sting kit with him because a sting could kill him and you have to give him a
shot or he might die. He has got stings several times in the past two years
and everything went okay and we didn't have to use the shot. So the Doctor
thinks that he got enough in him to keep the venom from hurting him now.
