The John W. Jones who served in Co. K, 14th (Powers') Arkansas Infantry, survived
the war. He applied for a Confederate pension from Izard County in 1902. He died
on September 4, 1903, after which his widow Martha H. (Taylor) Jones applied for a
Confederate pension from Izard County in 1904. The pension file number is 5660.
