Lori,

The 1911 Arkansas Confederate Veterans Interviews sometimes contain a wealth of
military and genealogical information, sometimes they are sketchy, but in either
case are a valuable resource. Arkansas Research (located at Conway) has published
the interviews, and has an index of names on their website:
www.arkansasresearch.com/

William Usrey isn't listed in the interview index. (BTW--he was appointed sergeant
in Co. A of Harrell's 17th Battalion Arkansas Cavalry; don't know why his tombstone
says private).

Robert B. Clark, of Carroll County, also served in Co. A of Harrell's Battalion. He
was elected brevet second lieutenant on March 17, 1863, the same date thata William
Usrey was appointed sergeant. There is an Arkansas Confederate pension record for
Lieut. Clark. The pension file number is 22264. The veteran applied from Carroll
County in 1915; his widow Senia applied in 1917.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Bryan Howerton
