my great grandfather was supposedly a drummer boy in the civil war. He would have been 14 at that time. I have not found any record of his service. Does anyone know if they kept records of youngsters at this time? He was supposedly captured with Wright's cavalry and sent to Rock Island in Mar of 1864. Although I found records of his father and uncle being captured and sent there he was not in the record.

Any ideas?
