Hi!
I am searching the Gettle family. as it states below, William S. Gettle
was Mayor of Stuttgart 1898-1899 and after that he was city treasurer
from 1912-1920 also of Stuttgart.
The family owned a store called the Gettle Harness Store, they also
owned property, some of which is located on College.
There were also 2 boarders that lived with the Gettle family in 1900,
One was a Mr. Harry/Harvey WITTNESUER/WITTNE???. It lists him as a 20
yr. old single man born in Arkansas and working at an Oil Co? Looks like
it could be Prairie? Oil Co? The other lodger is a William Ewing, age
37, born in TN. Can't read what his occupation is. Was wondering if
someone could tell me if there was indeed an oil co back then with a
name similar to the name above.
