Several families from this district attended a birthday anniversary dinner
last Sunday at Luther KIRBY"s in Mager community.

Misses Christine and Ruth HENDRIX shopped last Monday at the Frank MURRY
store located near the German Church.

Hubert BROWN was thrown from his mule recently but no damage was done. He
said he rolled over several times in the road.

W.E. RAPERT of Hopsonville and Bob COOK of Hopson Valley recently swapped
hogs.

A large crowd of men and boys last Friday and Saturday cleaned Landmark
Church grounds and filled mudholes in the road nearby. Everyone is invited to
this Sunday School and these singing exercises.

Several young people from this community enjoyed witnessing a program at
William School last Friday afternoon.

Our new barberette Miss Thelma PURVIS visited at the J.W. HENDRIX residence
last Saturday morning, tonsorializing for Miss Mary E. HENDRIX.

Willy RUSSELL must be a lucky man. One day recently, while he was cleaning a
potato patch his new jumper caught fire. After the tail and sleeves burned
off, he saved the rest.

J.W. HENDRIX took a truck load of wheat and corn to Knobel last Monday and
had it ground into flour and meal. J.W. says that B.A. SCOTT's mill grinds
fine quality flour and meal, giving good turnout per bushel.

J.W. HENDRIX, Virgil SMITH, Orban GAMBILL and Ed PURVIS were busy first of
this week, dragging thses public roads. Let all of us assist our county judge
and road overseers, especially while money is so scarce in the treasury of
our county. (Landmark)

Ed BEAMAN drove with a wagon load of people from this community to Moark
church last Sunday evening. Those who went were, Misses Lois BEEMAN, Belle
and Lillie CRAFTON, Ernest PULLIAM, Herbert JOHNSON and John COX.

Misses Lona Mae POND and Iva PURVIS were overnight guests at Marshall
WEAVER's last Saturday night and during that evening they enjoyed singing and
other music. (Mager)

Among those who attended a tacky party at Mrs. Glenn KIMBALL's last Saturday
evening were Felix CRAFTON, John COX, Bunny and Clyde KING, Jimmy HOWERTON,
Jesse and Curtis WILLS, Ray and Charley BREWSTER, Lester, Misses Belle,
Katie, Edna and Lena CRAFTON, Edna, Opal and Irene PULLIAM, Bertha and
Marcelle DAVIS, Alma and Cleo MYERS, Stella HOWERTON, Dorothy LESTER, Mary
WILLS, Beulah HAYS, Christeen and Hilda FICKERT, Edna WRIGHT, Rebas BREWER,
Blanche HUDSON and Mr. and Mrs. J.W. WILLS. Miss Stella HOWERTON won a
prize, she being the tackiest.

Several from this community attended a musicale at Mr. and Mrs. C.C. PURVIS'
in Landmark community last Saturday evening. (Parks Crossing)

A number of local people have been attending the Kangaroo court at Palatka.
Fun like that is good for young people and older ones, too, to a certain
extent, but some to to extremes.
