MJR and others,
I have been researching the Webb family line. My father, grandfather, and I were all born in Clay County. My great grandfather migrated there from Gibson County, TN., along with some of his brothers. My great grandfather, George Washington Webb, had a brother, John Pleasant Webb, (and others). Both George and John settled in Clay County.
John Pleasant Webb married (2) Harriet Pemberton in Gibson County, TN., and moved to White County, Ark. before 1866. Mary C. (Mollie) Webb was born in Beebe, White County, Ark. on 1 Aug 1866. She married John Carpenter in Rector, Clay County. I have his middle name as Pleasant, but I guess it could have been Jasper. This would need to be verified. Both Mollie and John are buried at Liberty Hill Cemetery, just north of Rector. I've been there and have a picture of their gravestone. It shows Mollie died on 10 Oct 1937, and John died 28 Aug 1876. I show he died in Beebe.
I show Mollie had 2 brothers and 1 sister by Harriet and John, and 2 half-brothers and 1 half-sister by a Mary Ann and John.
I show that Mollie and John Carpenter had 12 children. Raymond, Gladys, and Herschel are mentioned on this board.
I'd be willing to share any of this information, but don't have much of the more recent Carpenter families.
Let me know if you want more information.
Johnny Webb
