Hello Edward,
I'm sorry but I haven't run across your William Lawson HICKS in my research. My David Lawson HICKS was the son of Ruben HICKS and Margaret A. PINCHBACK HICKS. He was born in TENN and they moved to ARK around 1877.
The HICKS name is a hard one to research as there are so very many of them all over the US.
