FELIX JEFFERSON EDWARDS A/K/A BILLY JOE SIMMONS

Felix Jefferson EDWARDS a/k/a Billy Joe SIMMONS, age 71, Pocahontas, was born July 29, 1932 in Rector and died Saturday, February 7, 2004 in the VA Medical Center, Memphis, Tennessee. His parents were Desie RILEY EDWARDS and Thomas EDWARDS. He was a welder.
Foster parents were John SIMMONS and Lydia BURKETT, deceased. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Don EDWARDS; and sisters, Ida EDWARDS and Freida "Sissy" KNIGHT.
Survivors are his wife, Priscilla "Pat" WRIGHT EDWARDS, Pocahontas; four sons, Ricky EDWARDS, Burns, Oregon, Tommy (Carol) EDWARDS, Oregon, Michael (Theresa) EDWARDS, Toledo, Oregon and Rodney (Polly) EDWARDS, Albany, Oregon; three daughters, Linda Hubert TIPPITT and Tami (Steve) MURRAY, Rector and Cheri (Steve) ADAMS, Cabot; brother, Tommy EDWARDS, Imboden; sisters, Bertha MILLER and Polly HUDSON, Modesto, California and Dorothy GLASCO, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grand-children.
Funeral services were conducted February 10, 2004 in Great Harvest Church with Paul CRAIG officiating. Burial in Corning Cemetery, McNabb Funeral Home, Pocahontas in charge of arrangements.


OSCAR BROWN

Oscar A. "Brownie" BROWN of St. Louis, Missouri, died February 6, 2004. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary and a daughter, Frances SCHLAPPRIZZI. He also leaves behind one brother, Quinn BROWN of Datto; four sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was one of eight children. Four brothers and two sisters have preceded him in death.
He was a longtime active member of Tower Grove Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge Lambskin Number 460 A.F. and the Moolah Shrine Temple.
Funeral services were Monday, February 9 in Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa, St. Louis, Missouri. Burial in Sunset Memorial Park, Affton, Missouri. Memorials may be made to Tower Grove Baptist Church, 4257, Magnolia Ave. St. Louis, Missouri, 63119 or any charity of one's choice. Masonic services were held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary.


HELEN WILLIAMS

Helen WILLIAMS, 84 year old Corning resident, died February 15, 2004 in St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center, Jonesboro.
She was born April 7, 1919 in Rector, daughter of Jessie Printice McNELLY and Pancy RICHARDSON McNELLY. She married Frank Rushing WILLIAMS on September 8, 1934 and he survives. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of Carter Carburetor, Johansen Shoes Factory and Basler Electric.
Survivors other than her husband, are one son, Gerald WILLIAMS, Corning; two daughters, Ruth DABBS, Fort Myers, Florida and Barbara BYERS, Nashville, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leroy and L.C. McNELLY and a son, Ernest Willie WILLIAMS
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, February 18 in Ermert Funeral Home chapel with Jack BEARDEN officiating. Burial in Corning Cemetery.


ALFRED HARLAN, SR.

Alfred "Al" HARLAN, Sr., 57 year old truck driver who resided in Corning, died February 11, 2004 in the VA Hospital, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
A United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era, he was born November 17, 1946 in Norton, West Virginia, son of Eugene Kincade and Margaret Irene MILLER. He married Kathleen Marie SCHRAM, January 24, 1976 and was affiliated with Revival Time Tabernacle, Harviell, Missouri.
Survivors are his wife, Kathy HARLAN, Corning, two sons, A.J. HARLAN, JR, and William HARLAN both of Moark; three daughters, Debbie ERVIN, Philippi, West Virginia, Tammy MARCH, Datto and Nanette Michelle RUSSELL, Poplar Bluff, Missouri; three brothers, John HARLAN, Norton, West Virginia, Frank HARLAN, Lancaster, Ohio and Emmet HARLAN Fredericksburg, Virginia; three sisters, Ladava HARLAN PINGLEY, Norton, West Virginia, Edith HARLAN THORNE, Hightower, New Jersey and Una HARLAN PITZER, Deerfield, Michigan; 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, February 15 in Ermert Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Jerry SUMMERS officiating. Burial in Post Oak Cemetery, McDougal.


NANCY LOUISE OGDEN

Funeral services for Nancy Louise OGDEN, 72 of Bono, were conducted Monday February 9, 2004 in Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Neelyville with Ron FOWLER officiating.
She was born July 9, 1931 in Bandalia, Missouri and died February 6, 2004 in St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center, Jonesboro. She married Harold M. OGDEN on August 27, 1943 and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1996. Her hobbies were sewing and cooking and she was a member of First Assembly Church of God, Corning.
Survivors are four sons, Bob OGDEN and Manuel OGDEN both of Corning, Harold OGDEN, Rockford, Illinois and Henry OGDEN, Bono; three daughters, Edna HERRIN, Corning , Mary ANDERSON, Poplar Bluff and Wanda HERRIN, Gallatan, Tennessee; four sisters, Helen BENTLEY, Rock Island, Illinois, Patty Merida WICKENBERGE, Arizona, Silvia TILL, Cole Valley, Illinois and Mary Jane RUSSELL, Cole Valley; three brothers, Robert GOINS, Halfery, Missouri, Junior EVANS, Moline, Illinois and Larry EVANS, Moline; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grand-children; Best Buddies, Stan HALL, Jose SENTE, Bobby GOZA and John McKINSEY.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ellie OGDEN, three sisters and three brothers. Burial in Cantwell Cemetery, East of Corning.
