RUBY HINKLE

Ruby E. HINKLE, 86, Rockford, Illinois, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004 in Swedish-American Hospital. Born March 8, 1918 in Corning, daughter of Willis and Javanda SATTERFIELD McKINNEY, she married Jess G. HINKLE on May 18, 1973 in Corning. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1977. She attended Arkansas schools, retired as a cook at Swedish-American Hospital in September, 1976 and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to spend time with her family and especially cook for them.
Survivors include sons, William (Reva) HINKLE, Corning, Jesse Jr. of Rockford, James (Lori) of Rockford; daughter, Wilma POYNER of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Velma YEAGER of Rockford, Thelma (Bob) HASTINGS of Rosena, Joan (Chuck) BUTTACAVOLI, Rockford, Ruby MARTIN, Machesney Park, Kathy (Steve) WALTERS of Rockford, Patsy (Barry) WESTHOLDER of Machesney Park; 29 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister, Ethel FLEETWOOD, Portland, Oregon; son in law, Wesley POE, Rockford. She was predeceased by son, Johnny, daughter, Sue POE and grandson, Steven MARTIN.
Visitation services Thursday night, November 18 in Fred C. Olson Funeral Chapel, North Chapel, 2811 North Main Street, Rockford. Visitation in Ermert Funeral Home, Corning was Saturday morning, November 20. Graveside services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, in Moark Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family. Ermert Funeral Home, Corning and Fred C. Olson Funeral Chapels, East Chapel, Rockford, assisted the family. Ermert Funeral Home assisted with local arrangements.


LAWRENCE RICKER

Funeral arrangements for Lawrence RICKER, 95, Higden (near Clinton) will be announced by Roller McNutt Funeral Home, Clinton. Lawrence RICKER died November 22, 2004 at the age of 95.
He was born February 2, 1909 in Clay County, son of the late Dave RICKER and Nettie BARRINGER RICKER. He worked in timber, sawmills and farmed.
A Christian, he was a World War Two veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Pete and Lance.
Survivors include one son, Neal RICKER, Higden and one daughter, Elaine SHIRTS, Oregon, 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

LELA COX

Lela COX, formerly of Corning, died in Big Bend Woods Nursing Center, Valley Park, Missouri, Friday, November 19, 2004 at the age of 86 years. She was born May 22, 1918 in Corning, daughter of Millard and Minnie DUNSTON CURRY. She was a seamstress and homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Horace COX, Inverness, Florida and Jerry T. COX, St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Minnie HEIDEMAN, Leasburg, Missouri; three sisters, Leona PARRISH, Detroit, Michigan, Georgia BOLEN, Campbell, Missouri and Myra LUTER, Piggott. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Mel CURRY and two sisters, Bertha CLEMONS and Thelma HARTMAN.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 23, 2004 in Ermert Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Jerry ARNOLD officiating. Burial in Mars Hill Cemetery, Crockett.


ETHEL SPENCE

Funeral services for Ethel SPENCE, 95, Conway, were conducted Saturday, November 20, 2004 in Roller McNutt Funeral Chapel with Keith JOHNSON and Ray STELL officiating.
She was born September 22, 1909 in Melbourne to the late Charlie BURKHEART and Mattie MORRIS. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester SPENCE.
Survivors include one daughter, Sonia BELL and husband, Jerry, Conway; one son, Jim HUNT and wife Cindy, Corning; granddaughter, Angela BICKFORD and husband, Mark; grandson, Jimmy HUNT; great grandson, Seth BICKFORD.
Burial in Crestlawn Memorial Park, Conway.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 2225 Prince Street, #9, Conway, 72034.
Roller McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Jim BELL, Drew BELL, Brian JAMES, Dale KEGLEY, Ivo JONES and Charles JOHNSON.


HILDA FOX

Funeral services for Knobel resident, Hilda FOX were conducted Wednesday, November 25, 2004 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paragould with Reverend John MARCONI. Burial in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Knobel.
Hilda FOX was born January 30, 1918 in Knobel, daughter of Frank and Sophia ENGEL McCONNELL and died Monday November 22 in the home of a daughter in Lafe. She was 86 years of age and was affiliated with St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paragould. she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Charles FOX in 1992, one brother, , one sister and one grandson, Michael FOX.
Survivors include one son, Joe FOX, Knobel; two daughters, Patricia MULLUNS and Mary STEYER both of Lafe; one brother, John McCONNELL, Rockford, Illinois; one sister, Genevieve McCONNELL, Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paragould.


DORA ENID CROFFORD

Mrs. Dora Enid STEELE CROFFORD, 89, died Sunday, November 21, 2004 in Jonesboro. She was born November 4, 1915 in Delaplaine and was a life long resident there. She graduated Walnut Ridge High School and worked in factories in Paragould and Pocahontas. She was a member of Delaplaine Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Anthony CROFFORD; parents, Martha Malissie ANDES STEELE and Benjamin Franklin "Frank" STEELE; two brothers, Everette Faye STEELE, Delaplaine and Ernest Arnold STEELE, Peach Orchard.
Survivors include a daughter, Nickie Ellen CROFFORD and Aaron BROWN, Jonesboro; one son, Johnny Mack and Bonnie Alice CROFFORD; three granddaughters, Robbin Marie CROFFORD, Teri Lynn CROFFORD IMMEL and Allison Elizatbeth CROFFORD BRAY, all of Forest City; five great grandchildren, John Anthony CROFFORD, Randy Allen DEARING, Jordan Elisabeth IMMEL, Jimmy Wayne IMMEL,II and Eddie Lee TRIM, II; one great grandson, Nicholas Anthony CROFFORD, all of Forest City and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 24 in Mitchell Funeral Home, Paragould, with Reverend Johnny NISWONGER officiating. Burial in Greene County Memorial Gardens, Paragould, under direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.


DANNY HOWARD JONES

Funeral services for Danny Howard JONES, Flowery Branch, Georgia, were conducted Wednesday morning in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home, Pocahontas with Carl MASSEY officiating.
Danny JONES was born July 2, 1944 in Pocahontas and died Sunday November 21 in Northeast Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia at age 60. Son of Lucille JAMES JONES, Cleburne, Texas and the late Howard JONES, he was a member of Georgia National Guard and retired as a district lab technician with the Highway Department.
Survivors include his wife, Doylene CANNADY JONES of the home; one son, Britt JONES, Tomball, Texas; one daughter, Leann PACHECO, North Little Rock; three sisters, Pat BLY, Jefferson City, Missouri, Barbara DUNCAN, Booneville, Mississippi and Shelby FLETCHER, Cleburne, Texas; three grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler and Caitlyn JONES.
Burial in Pocahontas Masonic Cemetery under direction of McNabb Funeral Home, Pocahontas. Pallbearers were, Ray BLY, Mark BLY, Andy DUNCAN, Richard DUNCAN, Jim ULMER and Tom TACKETT. Honorary pallbearers, Dale LONGSHORE and Stan WILSON.


HUBERT VESTER

Hubert VESTER, Dickson, Tennessee, died in his home, Sunday, November 21, 2004 at the age of 90 years. He was born August 19, 1914 in Supply, son of George and Dora HARRIS VESTER.
He retired from General Motors, St. Louis and had served as an elder in Pamona Church of Christ, West End Churh of Christ and Corning Church of Christ.
On September 7, 1993 he married Freda ERMERT VESTER and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, James VESTER, St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Veleta PRINGLE, Dickson, Tennessee; two stepsons, Dr. George FOSTER, St. Petersburg, Florida and Bill FOSTER, Washington; one stepdaughter, Kay TAPIO, Las Vegas, Nevada; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn WEAVER VESTER on November 18, 1992, two brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services were conducted by Kippy WOODS at Corning Cemetery, Wednesday, November 24, 2004, under the direction of Ermert Funeral Home.
