CHESTER POLLARD

Chester Floyd POLLARD of Pollard was born March 28, 1922 in Carryville to Thomas Ray and Ellen Lee McCAULEY POLLARD. He died in his home June 21, 2005 at the age of 83.
He was united n marriage to Necie LOWERY on November 5, 1943. To this union two sons were born.
A life long resident of Clay County, he served in the Army of General PATTON's 3rd Army and served as a 50 caliber machine gunner for 294 combat days and 2, 000 combat miles in Europe. He was awarded four Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Medal.
After serving in the Army, he started and retired from farming in the Pollard area.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Homer, Joseph, Duward, Vernon and Hulen and one sister, Mary Bell PELTS.
H is survived by his wife Necie POLLARD of the home; two sons, Leslie and Suzanne POLLARD of Corning and Gary POLLARD of Pollard: two grandchildren, Garrett and Samantha POLLARD of Pollard and Autumn POLLARD of Corning; one brother, Enos POLLARD of Rector.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were sons Leslie and Gary, grandson Garrett and friend Jim CORDER.
HOGGARD and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott in charge of arrangements.


DOROTHA TURNER

Dorotha Loiuise TURNER, Hillstring Community, of Corning, was born February 23, 1927 to Carrel Ernest and Clara Irene COLE HESTER and died June 21, 2005 in Randolph County, Medical Center, Pocahontas. She was 78.
On January 20, 1945 she was united in marriage to Filbert Thomas TURNER, who died September 24, 1991.
A member of Hopewell Baptist Church, she was a retired bookkeeper and enjoyed China painting, quilting, oil painting, sewing and hunting.
Services Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in ERMERT Funeral Home chapel. Burial in Nelson Cemetery, Reyno.
Survivors include one son, Gary TURNER, Corning; three daughters, Janice GARRETT, Bella Vista, Phyllis WRIGHT, Judsonia and Clarissa RUSSELL, Corning; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Carrell HESTER, Jr., Corning, Dewayne HESTER, Garland, Texas and Larry HESTER, Judsonia; one sister, Carolyn McKINLEY, Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert S. HESTER and Bud HESTER.
Memorials may be made to Nelson Cemetery, Reyno.
