Recent obits taken from the Clay County Courier, Corning, Clay County Arkansas.
CHARLES E. CARMICKLE
Graveside services were held Wednesday, July 27, 2005 in Corning Cemetery for Charles E. CARMICKLE, Adel, Georgia, a native of Success.
A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War Two, he was born March 13, 1928 to William and Edna (SAGO) CARMICKLE in Success and died July 24, 2005 in South Georgia Medical Center, Adel, Georgia. He was 77.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Pauline CARMICKLE of the home in Adel, Georgia; one son, Charles E. "Hank" CARMICKLE, Valdosta, Georgia; one daughter, Vonna WACKLERLY, Detroit, Michigan; three sisters, Opal ARMSTRONG, Bentonville, Irene SISCO and Beulah KNOWLTON, both of Rogers. One grandchild.
RODNEY WATSON
Rodney L. WATSON was born April 28, 1935 in Datto to William and Brady WATSON and died June 19, 2005 in Daingerfield, Texas. He was 70 years of age. (His mother, Mrs. WATSON, was a schoolteacher in Moark and Corning. He was the grandson of Harrison and Tena GRAYSON, life long residents of Corning.)
He was a retired steel worker with Lone Star, Daingerfield, Texas.
Survivors include two sons, Rodney David WATSON, Illinois and Steven Daniel WATSON, Daingerfield, Texas; two aunts, Margena HALFERTY, Poplar Bluff and Evelyn GRAYSON, Poplar Bluff, formerly of Corning.
A memorial service will be held at a late date when his ashes will be distributed in Arkansas accoring to his wishes.
