Hello members,
Messages are being deleted that should remain on the website. This is a
Public Forum and researchers should not be subjected to such minipulation of
just asking a question. Especially when it is an innecent question and a
poll. A poll question was recently added, and answered. All parties have been
in contact with each other. Forgiveness asked for and by the response,
forgiveness given. A fellow researcher sent me her website and she had such
profound statements, this is an exerpt from one of her paragraphs:
. . . . . . .
There are many who disagree with some of what I have outlined here and some
who disagree with ALL I have presented here, but it is my hope there will be
those who are willing to open their minds and their hearts and realize there
were those indigenous peoples of the Americas who are not on rolls - some by
choice and some not. But, whether ancestors were actually enrolled or whether
they were excluded, does not change your genetics nor the genetics of those
who are enrolled. We are, and will always be, a complex composite of those
who have gone before us.
If there were perfect research in a perfect world, people would help each
other with kindness and consideration. This includes respecting the opinions
of others WITHOUT condemnation and flaming. We need to remember that everyone
is entitled to an opinion, but I believe that right stops short of blasting
another researcher because of differences. It is true that people have had
thoughts and opinions for thousands and thousands of years - some lived in a
society and culture where each person's ideas and concepts were freely
exchanged. The right to express an opinion was honored, although the right to
disagree was also respected and encouraged. Others have suffered in the Dark
Ages of dominance and oppression. You, and you alone, make the choice of how
you present yourself and your ideas which will ultimately reveal your
preference for which type of world we should inhabit. If you feel the need to
"educate" someone, please do it in a kind way, respecting that person's ideas
and concepts and most of all, be willing to have an open, receptive mind.
I have some formal higher education, although I am extremely well educated in
the School of Hard Knocks. There is one constant - the more I have learned,
the more I realize my knowledge is infinitesmal. Also, I am very aware I am
only one of a teeming mass of world population. These inhabitants of our tiny
planet have a myriad of ideas, concepts, lifestyles, cultures, and religions.
It is important for me to remember there are those in my neighborhood, my
country, and in other countries, who are educated and experienced in ways
which I may never know. I must never forget that learning in this physical
world is restricted only by a person's inability or unwillingness to open
mind and heart to experiences and concepts which are as varied as the gene
pool from which we have all emerged.

A copy of the message which continues to be deleted from the Ancestry.com
sight of Bradley County Arkansas.
Please: I need your input and your response needed
Hello,
Ancestry.Com these past months came out with a new program for people to
download their files, start up their program and then use it to scan the big
database for your names for you and indicate the match that they could
indicate with their filters. The ability to merge a file with your
information was instituted with those files that are and have been marked
permission to copy and use. Then the person in the same program has the
ability to republish their information back onto the same location without
encroaching on any copyright.
Now my question to you is: If Ancestry.com (aka myfamil.com inc.) built a
program as well as the capabilities for others (ie. other ancestry programs
or websites such as Genealogy.com and LDS) Then what is to stop people from
the work on the these locations to merge into a great big database those
family files that say, all have Bradley County, Arkansas in them.
Your input, is greatly appreciated on this matter, since I am in the middle
of downloading family files that contain the words Bradley AR. Note please:
I am only downloading those files that allow the capabilites of downloading.
Also each merge has been sources to that family file that it was downloaded
to. My merge program is Legacy Tree with full deluxe benefits, so I am able
to tag those persons not to merge or show me the record again, but it also
has the ability to merge two like persons with the same information or added
information that it did not contain.
Your help and input will be appreciated, I have sent a note to Ancestry.com
(aka myfamily.com Inc) and asked about the copyright issue. Also I am
keeping a log on each of the files as well as the person email address that
was posted on that site.
Kindly submitted,
Carolann St. John
