Arkansas Gazette 1915:
Pine Bluff, Nov 16 - W. H. Greenwood, 32, died here
this afternoon. Three brothers and a sister survive;
P. A. Greenwood of Pine Bluff, J. R. Greenwood of
Kingsland, C. L. Greenwood of Booneville, Mrs. Hattie
Buchanon of Bearden. The body will be sent to
Kingsland for burial.
Kingsland, Nov. 18 - Receiving a heavy blow on the
head from an unidentified man when W. C. Wheeler was
engaged in a fist fight with Tom Knickerbocker at
Draughon last night, Wheeler died a few hours later.
Severl men had gathered in the office of the Saline
Lumber Company. While Wheeler and Knickerbocker were
fighting it is said a third party came up and struck
Wheeler on the head. He fell and did not regain
consciousness. Those who saw the fight refuse to
talk.
Nov. 20 - William Heinley and his two sons yesterday
were held to the Grand Jury on a charge of killing
Thomas Knickerbocker. Knickerbocker was killed in a
fight Wednesday night at the office of the Saline
River Lumber Company by a blow on the head. At the
time witnesses refused to talk. Following an
investigation by Justice Wheeler, the arrest of
Heinley and his sons followed. Funeral services for
Knickerbocker were held yesterday. He leaves a wife
and six daughters.
