HE WAS A MIGHTY NIMROD
One of Van Buren's summer visitors at Winslow while roaming the mountain of
that delightful resort found the following Inscription on an old tombstone.
This item may prove of interest to some of the descendant relatives if any
are living:
ALFORD W. CAUGHMAN
Born in Izard Co. Ark., Janu 3rd, 826. Died March 23rd, 1875 He was a man who
in an early day killed over 1000 deer he did truthfully say. He was a
frontiersman's son, but at last had to give up his life and his gun.
**Note Winslow is located on the Crawford County/Washington County line.
