I am looking for information on the following brothers who arrived in Dallas
Co and Hot Spring Co., Arkansas shortly after 1850 and were there until
after the Civil War.
George W. Brown b. 1827 in Alabama, m. Polly Southerland in 1859 Hot Springs
Co. and moved to California about 1860
Elhannon Brown (E.L. or Ham)b.c. 1832 Ala, m. Minerva J. and moved to
Dallas Co., Texas after the 1870 Dallas Co., Arkansas census.
William Brown b. c. 1829 Ala., m. Clementine Rogers in MIssissippi, moved to
Dallas Co., by the 1870 census, died shortly after that. His widow moved to
Dallas Co., Texas by 1880 where she is found living next to her brother in
law, Valentine.
Valentine Brown b. 1832 Ala. m. Matilda Hurd, Sarah Hinkle and Francis
Amanda Hancock. He served in the Civil War, for the Confederacy, in
Company E., Ark. State Troops. He was still in Dallas Co., Arkansas in 1870
but by 1880 he had moved to Dallas Co., Texas.
Valentine, E. L., and Clementine (widow of William) are all buried in the
family plot in Lancaster, Dallas Co., Texas.
I would appreciate any and all information on these Brown Brothers...they
have been a stumbling block for us for many years.
