Thanks Ed, the reason that I wanted to look at the wills if there were any
was because there are three people that I know of that are researching the
Black Smith's.We are all researching different lines.

Colonel Maurice Smith came from Fayette Co.,Tn. in 1843.Samuel Webb Smith
cane from Granville Co.,N.C. in 1848. General Nathaniel Smith came from
Hardeman Co.,Tn. in 1848.Major Thomas Reid, brother in law to Colonel Maurice
also bought slaves into Arkansas.

Someone that is researching one line told me that an ancestor told her that
there were three or four lines of Smith's and I know that from all the death
certificates that I have recieved.

My family called all the Smith's cousin's but they didn't know who their
ancestor was or how they were related. I saw how some of the Smith's married
Smith's and I thought that they married cousin's . Now I know that they were
from different plantations and were not related at all.

I plan to go to Arkansas this summer and go through some court records in
Fordyce and try to find some answers.

Thanks,

Della
