Rita, There is a man who runs the LDS family library in Alexandria who is related to the Heflins in Drew Co and around Star City. If you think there may be a connection, I will contact him. He has been researching them for a long time. C.L. Jones

Subject: [ARDREW] SURNAMES I am researching
I am researching the following Drew Co. Surnames:
RIAL - Samuel Adam RIAL - father and the following children and their families:
James Alvin RIAL
Samuel Percy RIAL
Mary Catherine RIAL
William David RIAL
LARKIN - Mary Catherine LARKIN - married Samuel Adam RIAL
Benjamin Joel LARKIN - brother to Mary Catherine
William or Willie LARKIN - brother to Mary Catherine
W.R. LARKIN - father to Mary Catherine
Sarah LARKIN - mother to Mary Catherine
(This family has been really hard for me to find information on.)
McKIEVER - Etta Catherine MCKIEVER - wife of James Alvin RIAL
HEFLIN - Stokley HEFLIN and his children:
Matilda, Paralee, and William Cornelius HEFLIN;
Edward Milton HEFLIN and his children:
Edward Milton, Jr., James Franklin, and Nancy Ann HEFLIN;
Edward Milton HEFLIN, Jr. and his children:
Walter, Porter, Clyde, Frank Roe, Alfred Wiley, Edward James,
Inez Vernettie, Genettie Jewel "Geneva", ( I know Aunt Inez and
Aunt Geneva lived in Monticello because I used to go visit them
with my Grandmother RIAL, who was their neice - they lived over
around the area of the carpet factory - I think the Coca Cola place
used to be over in there at one time, but I may be wrong) and then
my great-grandmother, Mazie Emma HEFLIN, who was working
at Carson's Grocery in Monticello when she met my great-grand-
father, William Rafe AVERY. There was a restaurant in the
store and she worked there along with Mr. Carson's daughter. All
the railroad men ate there. Anyone know anything about this?
WHITEHEAD - Capt. James WHITEHEAD and his children:
Mary Catherine "Mollie" WHITEHEAD, Sally, Ida, Ginnie,
Emma, Porter, Tom, John and Wiley WHITEHEAD.
Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated. I especially enjoy hearing old stories (good or bad) about the people and times.
Thank you.
