Sarah A. Starr was the daughter of George W. and Elizabeth Starr. She was
born July 1831 in Tennessee. On the 1850, 1860, and 1870 censuses, she is
living in Conway County, Arkansas, with her husband, Gabriel Burl Smith
They owned land just north of Marcus Hill Cemetery, near what I believe was
known as Starr Gap.
1850 Benton Township, Conway County, Arkansas, page 249A
G. B. Smith, age 35, born in NC
Sarah, age 19, born in TN

1850?), age 13, born in TN

Calvin (same as William in 1850?), age 9, born in TN (should be AR)
James, age 7, born in TN (should be AR)

Mary A., age 1, born in AR
1870 Hardin Township, Conway County, Arkansas, page 30A

Mary, age 10, born in AR (b. 1858, m. Thomas J. Middleton 1879, d. 1946,
buried Oakland Cemetery, Holland)
Elizabeth, age 8, born in AR (b. 1862, m. William Edmon Hardin 1879, d.
1898, buried Oakland Cemetery, Holland)
After Gabriel Burl Smith died c1863, Sarah remarried to Thomas M. Alexander
in 1876. They apparently didn't stay married long as she is listed living
in Harve Township with her daughter Elizabeth, I believe, on the 1880
census. She is living with her son Robert in 1900 in Cadron Township.
FYI: Gabriel Burl's daughter Amanda J. Smith, by his first wife, married
Andrew Jackson Starr, brother of Sarah A. Starr. Some of Andrew J. and
Sarah A.'s other siblings were Malinda Starr Reece, James Starr, and Elender
Caroline Starr Heffington.
I would be interested in any information on any of the above individuals.
Hope this is helpful.
