We failed to learn of Mrs. Erma Dee Reynolds' leaving for San Francisco,
Calif., to join her husband until last week. I'm sorry that I've been so
negligent in this case. Mrs. J.C. Merritt (Avenelle Morgan) is also with
her husband, who is stationed at Fort Knox, Ky.

Mrs. D.O. Scroggin, who recently moved to Center Ridge since her husband
had gone to California, is spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs.
Icie Matthews, and son, James.

Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Farris Langley and son. Other visitors there
were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Steward, Mrs. Delia Morgan and Olena Battles.

We were sorry to learn of Herbert Allen being sick and hope he will soon
be up.

Mr. and Mrs. Hayes Roberts and children of Greenbrier were Saturday
night visitors of the John Robertson family.

John Merritt had a barn destroyed by fire Saturday night. We really are
sorry, for we'll need all the barn space available to store feed in this
year.

Well, everyone has been getting smart around here. It seems we're over
anxious to begin our crops and start the gardens. Most of the farmers
are breaking ground and cutting stalks in preparation for our first days
of real spring.
