Hi Erin
You can look at the 1895 Argentina census at a pilot site
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=1410078;p=2;t=
searchable
There are several Palmero families which may support your change of name
suggestion(also Palmier and Palmera). The census does show birth place and
there are couple born in Italy with a child born 1895 - didn't see a
Nicholas though. If any of the families look possible it may help Marie to
narrow the search.

Ann

Snip " I am trying to locate the names of some ancestors. My husband's
great
grandfather, Nicholas Palmer, was born in 12 Jan 1895 in Buenos Aires.
His parents were Italian immigrants. In 1899, they came to the United
States
and settled in Connecticut. "
