Dear Auntie:

Well a letter to let you know that I am still in good health and
thinking of you folks: I received the bottle of peppers this evening,
and boy are they good, I'll say. Aunt Annie after so long of time I
finally made the (SGT). Was promoted yesterday. It does not mean any
raise in money but a lot in rank. I surely hate to give up my tools
in the morning. I was very interested in the mechanical business and
maybe I was wrong in taking the promotion. Auntie I think we are
leaving for good this first. We are to go on so called maneuvers
beginning this first, however there is not much doubt in anyones mind
as to where we are going. It looks like it will be good bye for quite
some time to come. I really do not know how to tell Mother. She will
take it so darn hard. You know as everyones else knows that it is
just another job to be done and the sooner we get it over with the
better. Please do not mention this to anyone as it might get me in
trouble and even cause deaths amoung us. Tell Irene and Ellis hello
for me when writing them I enjoy her letters quite a lot. No Aunt Ann
I
haven't changed my mind a lot about marrying before this thing is
over.
Well I really do no know that much to write so I will close for this
time. Hoping to hear from you soon.
I remain your nephew,

Buster
