Nancy is John's Sister not child. she would have been Levi's Aunt.

There is always some confusion. on the Census you will see under Lou Lamb -m-
William Melton the children: Leithie, Ella, Hiram Houston & a Maggie. There
never was a Maggie. Ella is listed as Ella R. Melton - not correct.
Grandma's middle name was Maggie - and they would call her that and she hated
it. Aunt Gracie & dad were very very sure on that. There was no child named
Maggie. And that grandma was Ella Maggie Melton. I tried to suggest that a
child might of died. Nope, didn't happen, Gracie would have known that. Who
knows. If it happened when Grandma Ella was very young she may not have
remembered.

Gracie & daddy have said that Nannie was much older than Grandma. So I kind
of wonder if the Nancy in the 1880 could have been her Nannie, but perhaps a
older cousin.

Emma in 1880 was 6yrs old - On the 1900 census it says they had been married
23 years. So I don't think its the same family. Probably related, Maybe the
two stroud men were brothers??? Very confusing. More so everyday. Now you
know why I need so much help. Sonia
