I am researching Jeffreys on my mother's side of the family and Russells on
my dad's side.
Did James Jeffery , born 1757 of VA ,died 1843 Izard cty AR, have a brother
or cousin named Jeremiah Jeffrey born 1766 VA ?
I have found out that there was a Jeffrey family out of Rutherford NC
that was real closely connected to a Russell family in that area and part of
this Jeffrey and Russell family went to Lawrence/Independence county AR by
way of Franklin cty TN and the others of these families went to Alabama ,
Mississippi, and Caldwell cty TX.. Jeremiah married Sarah Bishop and died in
Arkansas on his way to Texas. Jeremiah's stepdaughter, Lydia Jeffrey Bishop
married a Henry Russell son of Henry Russell sr who married Rebecca and went
on to Lawrence/Independence cty AR with the Jeffrey family. I believe this
Henry Russell jr is the one in Tuscaloosa county AL where my gg-grandfather
James B. Russell was married. James Russell later moved to Izard cty.
