ADDED NOTES:

ADLER : was located 2 miles south of Lunenburg. It was discontinued in 1909.
For those of you who have the Marriage Record Books #1, #2, and #3, for
Izard County, there is a brief description on the front page which gives a
brief description of some of the towns that used to exist in Izard County.

BENNETT'S BAYOU was a township in Fulton County. I have a book called
"Bennett's Bayou-Bennett's River 1830-1900" by Donald S. Hubbell that says
that Bennett's Bayou was a tributary stream of the North Fork River. In
other words, in what is now Baxter County, beneath the waters of Norfork
Lake. The actual township borders seemed to move from census year to census
year. - Bill Dunn 8/00

CROSS ROADS is/was a community just a few miles north of Pineville. There
was a store and post office there when I was a child. The Wises Chapel
Church and cemetery is there. Fern Estes 10/00

Hope this helps,

I have a family (Andrew Walker) in 1850 - 60 Franklin Twp. Izard; then 1870
Buffalo Twp. Marion; then 1880 Matney Twp. Baxter Co. I'm inclined to
believe this family didn't move, the county boundaries changed. Can anyone
tell me how I could find out - to either prove or disprove my theory?

Wilma
