Hi Peggy and all,

Here is my McWh*rter line. We have visited Allen D. McWhirter's
website and think that our Levi McWhorter is from Moses's line. We
are looking at Carroll Co. and Smith Co. TN. We think that Levi
McWhorter came to MO from TN before 1850. In the 1850 Texas Co. MO
census, Levi is listed without a wife but with children. Levi
McWhorter was next door to "Tinis" and Sarah Ann Shipley, who were m.
in the previous year. We believe that Sarah Ann is the daughter of
Levi McWhorter and that "Tinis" was John Tidence Shipley. He was
called Tidence in later census and war records. We have not been able
to find a marriage record to prove conclusively that Sarah Ann's name
was McWhorter. Any help would be appreciated.
